WRX driver holds off Sandell and older brother Timmy for victory in Utah.

Kevin Hansen led from start to finish at the second Nitro Rallycross event in Utah to edge out fellow Swede Patrik Sandell and older brother Timmy for victory. Here is all you need to know:

– Kevin leads the 2019 FIA World Rallycross standings by five points from Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud with Timmy 14 points behind after seven out of 10 races.

– The Hansen brothers took time out from their WRX duties to race Stateside with Kevin launching off the front row to beat polesitter Sandell into the first corner.

– He never gave up the lead from there with Sandell having to fend off 2018 champion Timmy, after the 27-year-old overcame a poor start over the six laps.

– Kevin, 21, said: “That start was just gold, then I did the six best laps I’ve ever done. They were spot on, not a single mistake. There’s not one thing I’m not happy about in that run and to come out just ahead of Patrik – what a day. I think this is the biggest event in rallycross. This is a world event and I’ve won, that’s just so cool.”

– Kevin, who also leads the 2019 Titans RX standings by 10 points from Timmy with three rounds left, returns to WRX action in France from August 31-September 1.
