NZ’s Courtney Duncan holds the Red Plate with back to back wins in Round 2, plus win and 6th in the Opening Round at Trentino in April. Duncan’s determination to right mistakes of the past 2 WMX Seasons will be to the fore, particularly minimizing the memory of the unfortunate incident with the photographer standing track-side which co-incidentally occurred same month, same track 2 years previous at the venue for this weekend’s GP.

Germany’s Larissa Papenmeier placed Overall 3 points behind Duncan, has to be home favourite with fans cheering the adorned, experienced rider on charge to fulfil cherished goals of standing top step of WMX podium.

Dutch star Nancy Van de Ven who epitomises the saying ‘it’s never over til the chequered’ rises to the challenge of over-coming leg surgery in January to hold a commandable 3rd place on the points table, a rider always on a mission.

5x Women Motocross Champion Kiara Fontanesi has to be admired for her astute deliverance of patience, insight on perfecting race-craft, and athletic ability to broaden physical training and mental preparation like no other Women Athlete known.

Fontanesi’s remarkable record counts for what it stands for, that is enough to push the Italian to race for the points win.

Stand-out performances by Belgium KTM rider Amandine Verstappen has potential to upset standings along with fellow German riders Stephanie Laier and Anne Borchers pushing the crowd to cheer WMX racing.
