LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami is looking forward to the prospect of returning to the track at the Grand Prix of Catalunya in Barcelona this weekend. Having endured a disappointing result last time out in Mugello, the Japanese talent is determined to get back in the points at Montmelo.

Having suffered an early crash at Mugello, Nakagami showed his dedication and spirit as he insisted on rejoining the race despite being well behind the field, maintaining his record of completing every race so far in his rookie season. The 26-year-old recently enjoyed a productive one-day test at Barcelona and revealed he and the LCR team will be channelling all their efforts into securing the best possible race result as soon as qualifying gets underway.

“We did a one-day test here and the test was quite good. This weekend the weather forecast is quite warm and we’ll have to find a good set-up on the bike. But we’re already thinking about the race, because here it’s quite difficult to manage the tyre for race distance. So from Friday, we’ll keep working to focus on the race. We need to get a good feel in qualifying of course, but from tomorrow we are working towards the race.”
