Grammy Award winning trio going full circle at Red Bull BC One World Final.

Cult 90’s hip-hop crew Naughty by Nature are going full circle in Amsterdam this weekend more than 25 years after first breaking onto the scene.

Dj Kay Gee, Vin Rock and Treach released O.P.P in 1991 and Hip Hop Hooray in 1993, two of the biggest rap records of the generation.

The trio from New Jersey have performed in front of huge crowds all around the world, but still love the intimate atmosphere that battles create.

On Saturday, November 4 they will be in the Dutch Capital for the Red Bull BC One World Final where the 16 best breakers from around the globe put it all out on the dance floor to win the prestigious title.

DJ Kay Gee said: “Watching the Last Chance Cypher it took us right back to the early days. We started off the same as the B-Boys and B-Girls.

“Battling in the clubs with all your crew behind you cheering you on to make it to the next round, then the next round, and just keep moving and keep going. It brings it all full circle. There’s so many links.”

Naughty by Nature will be performing live during the highly anticipated World Final at Westergasfabriek and Vin Rock is pleased to see hip-hop culture still thriving.

He said: “Musically and sonically hip hop is always changing up and evolving. Personally I think there’s a lot of good hip hop out there right now. Rappers like Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole and guys like that. As long as the kids are keeping the culture alive it’s all good.”

And is there the possibility of any new music dropping from them in the near future?

DJ Kay Gee said: “That’s all on the temperature of the music business. We have a lot of tracks and catalogued material people haven’t ever seen or ever heard! But the timing has to be right.”
