Racing Unleashed 2020 – Second victory in the second race for Michal Smidl (CZE) – Swiss Devin Isgro celebrates start-finish victory in the Challenger League
The completely new generation of racing simulators is as close to reality as possible, making SimRacing not only a mental challenge but also a physical experience. After the start of the season on the virtual Nürburgring, the second race started on the Spielberg. In the new F1 mode and in two leagues – with free practice sessions, qualifying sessions and the final race of the top 10 from the qualifying sessions on one race day. The best started in the Racer League, those who want to become the best in the Challenger League.
Michal Smidl is once again the fastest man in the Racer-League of Racing Unleashed. The Czech was already unbeatable on the virtual Nürburgring, now he repeated the perfect weekend on the virtual Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. With a lap time of 1:05.066 minutes, he took pole position and after 25 laps, he finally gained more than five seconds ahead of his first chaser. As at the Nürburgring, he was followed by his Czech compatriot Vojtech Polesny.
The Challenger League was also hot in the air. Man of the race there was Devin Isgro (SUI). He took pole position in the qualifying with a lap time of 1:05.5 minutes and then led the race each of the 25 laps. Towards the end his lead shrank to about one second, but Michel Angelo (GER) was unable to attack Isgro.
The project is backed by former Formula 1 greats: Monisha Kaltenborn, for example, former Sauber team boss in Formula 1, is CEO of Racing Unleashed.
