Motocross star grabs two X Games golds as Eaton, Reynolds and Sorgente win too.
Kiwi motocross star Levi Sherwood continued his dream 2017 after capturing two gold medals at X Games Minneapolis held in the U.S. Bank Stadium.
One week after making history during his Red Bull X-Fighters victory with two double backflips in a single run, Sherwood continued to dazzle the crowds in America.
He had three silver medals to his name going into the latest summer spectacular, however the 25-year-old looked intent on going one better in Friday’s Moto X Freestyle final.
Afterwards he took to Instagram to say, “Stoked! Huge thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
Not content with one gold medal, he returned for the Moto X Best Trick final where he got the better of Australian pair Jackson Strong and Moore to wrap up a fairytale weekend.
Elsewhere reigning Vans Park Series world champion Alex Sorgente broke his X Games duck with a supreme display in Men’s Skateboard Park, his score of 88.33 enough for gold with fellow Americans Tom Schaar and Cory Juneau in silver and bronze respectively.
Sorgente, born in Italy but now a citizen of Florda, enthused on Instagram: “What a crazy day, did not think I was gonna walk away with the Gold.”
Skate star Jagger Eaton completed the gold rush in Skateboard Street Amateurs, a phenomenal score of 91.66 seeing him storm home to an easy victory from Zach Saraceno with Alex Midler gaining a creditable bronze.
Saturday also saw 13-year-old American Brighton Zeuner win gold in the Women’s Skateboard Park final to become the youngest person ever to win gold at the X Games.
