Defending champion Toby Price storms to overall lead at Dakar Rally 2017 after impressive display.

In intense heat, the first Australian to ever win the Dakar sent a shuddering message to his rivals by dominating the 275km special stage in Argentina.
Starting the day in 17th on his KTM Factory Racing bike he rode supremely to be ahead at all three checkpoints and his aggressive time of 2.37.32 saw him cruise to the stage win and push him to the top of the overall leaderboard.
Teammate Matthias Walkner came closest to mounting a challenge but finished more than three minutes back with Paulo Goncalves in third and Great Britain’s Sam Sunderland being edged into fifth.
Price said afterwards: “It was a pretty tough day with all these cows and all this dust!”
