The MotoGP World Championship heads to the legendary venue of Le Mans this weekend for the Grand Prix de France, where LCR Honda Idemitsu’s rookie rider Takaaki Nakagami is hopeful of continuing his excellent run of form.

Sitting in 17th place in the standings after finishing every race so far, the Japanese rider scored his best finish to date at the Spanish race two weeks ago, and is hopeful for more progress at the world-famous Bugatti circuit after encouraging tests following the last race.

“After the Spanish race we had two tests, one in Jerez and one in Mugello and they were both really positive. I’m feeling much better on the bike now, and we are always improving our set-up. We did a bit of work on the electronics side and made steps there too.”

“This is a new track for me on the MotoGP bike, but I have quite good memories from this place in Moto2 because I took my first pole position here. I hope we can keep progressing and I think we can consider finishing in the top ten this weekend. This is the final target for us, and our confidence is high so we need to keep it going.”
