Thomas Covington of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing finished on the podium at the Dutch Masters of Motocross event at Mill. With fourth and second in the heats respectively, he was third overall.
It was an important race for Covington to get into his rhythm again after his knee injury. He slotted into qualifying steadily, and posted the 11th time.
A good start in race one catapulted him straight into second position. A mistake later on dropped him to fourth. With the three leaders too far ahead, he decided to save his energy and settle for fourth.
A bullet start in the second race brought him out into the lead. He lost the lead early on, but kept the pressure on. He later lost the connection, but held onto second.
With 4-2 in the races, Thomas earned himself a podium call up for third overall. This was a good training session for the upcoming GP races, the first of which will be next weekend in Latvia, with the German GP to follow.
