DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2017) – Thursday nights are for American Flat Track! Don’t miss tonight’s episodes on NBCSN, starting with the Peoria TT at 10 p.m. ET, followed by the Harley-Davidson Springfield Mile II and Short Track at 11 p.m. ET.
The Peoria TT is a bucket list item for flat track fans around the world and for the first time in more that two decades, flat track’s best riders will tackle the .6-mille circuit on 300-pound twin-cylinder machines. That spectacle in itself is worth a watch, but the focus will be on Henry Wiles to see if the TT-specialist can make history and tie American Flat Track legend, Chris Carr’s all-time wins at Peoria.
Although Wiles is the man to beat at Thunder Valley with 12-straight wins at the Peoria Motorcycle Club, there are plenty of other riders looking to spoil Wiles party. Championship leader Jared Mees, Buffalo Chip TT winner Briar Bauman and Jake Johnson.
In the AFT Singles class, points leader Shayna Texter looks to end her TT woes at the legendary track. Can she turn it around to keep her challengers, Kolby Carlile and Brandon Price at bay?
After Peoria, we move to another reverred event on the series calendar — the Springfield Mile II. Like Texter, Bryan Smith is not really a TT guy. However, he sure is a Mile guy. The defending champ is the guy to beat at the Illinois State Fairgrounds with the most career wins of any current rider at the Springfield Mile. It’s also crunch time for Smith. With four rounds remaining, he has to beat Mees.
Before the fire-breathing Twins take to the big track, the AFT Singles class returns to the Springfield ST for the first time in five years. At the last outing, Dan Bromley took top honors in the support class and the Pennsylvania rider is hoping for a repeat and end his win drought.
Tonight’s episodes marks 14 and 15 of 18 shows, part of the weekly coverage of American Flat Track on NBCSN — the Home of Motorsports — Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET.
