JIR Moto2 has confirmed that Tetsuta Nagashima is to race for the Japanese-Italian outfit this season, taking the place of Kohta Nozane.
Since the entry list was revealed for this year’s Moto2™ World Championship, Nozane has withdrawn from competition following the tragic death of his father.
It has now been confirmed that Nagashima will race with the squad, with the programme beginning as he takes to the Valencia test session this week.
Nagashima was champion of the GP Mono series in 2011 before finishing runner-up in the J-GP2 tier of the all Japan Road Race Championship in 2012.
Last year he made his World Championship debut at Motegi, finishing 20th for JIR as a replacement rider for the injured Mike di Meglio.
