Levi LaVallee pushed Brett Turcotte all the way again at the Winter X Games on Friday, however had to make do with a second snowmobile silver.
The American lost out in Thursday’s speed & style competition to the Canadian and fell four points short in Friday’s freestyle event with Justin Hoyer back in third.
Sweden’s Daniel Bodin, who won gold in the best trick last year, was forced to retire after the first run when he crashed and broke ribs.
Norwegian Marcus Kleveland found himself in a similar position in Friday’s snowboard big air final when Canada’s Max Parrot edged him and Japan’s Yuki Kadono out for his third consecutive gold.
Several more events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Aspen as the athletes prepare for next month’s Winter Games in South Korea.
