Joe Collier
Oulton Park – Round 3
Round three of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship took place at Oulton Park this weekend in the baking sunshine. Joe Collier riding for the EHA Racing team managed to secure another brilliant podium on his Aprilia with a stunning, hard fought second place.
Joe has always been a fan of the technical Oulton Park circuit and he was keen to continue his string of good results at the Cheshire track. He managed to qualify in a strong second place, just 0.2 off pole.
Joe got a fantastic start and was away with the leading pack from the minute the lights went out. He was then involved in an incredible 15-lap race, dicing for the lead with Keith Farmer, Chrissy Rouse and his team-mate Andy Reid before he was forced to retire with a problem.
Joe looked really strong throughout the race and pushed hard for the entire 15 laps, swapping positions on several laps and leading for many of them, he put up a really good fight to secure another great podium with second place, only 0.06 off the win! He is now third in the Championship standings, only 18 points off the leader.
Joe Collier – “It was a good weekend overall, we made progress in every single session and managed to get the bike perfect for the race. I felt I could have pushed for my first win but the last lap didn’t go the way I’d planned!
Once again I managed to gain a good amount of solid points to put us third in the Championship standings and close the gap a bit.
Thank you to Will, Ian and Derek for working so hard to get the bike to be so competitive. Also as always, a huge thank you goes to all my personal sponsors.
Roll on Snetterton!”
