Congratulations to MXGP 2018 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings! Jeffrey Herlings won his first MXGP World Championship in the Netherlands, in the 19th round of the 2018 MXGP series. Herlings dominated the first moto at his home race, lapping up to seventh, for his 30th moto victory of the season. Herlings won the moto by 38.9 seconds over Antonio Cairoli, sealing his first MXGP World Championship.
Although the season is not over, Herlings’s statistics are phenomenal. He has led more laps than the entire rest of the field combined, an incredible achievement considering the depth and lack of injuries this year. Herlings has won thirty out of thirty-seven motos this season, including the two rounds he missed in Lombardia. After winning fifteen of the eighteen rounds, Herlings claimed the 2018 MXGP Championship title on his home soil in the Netherlands.
