For a time, Snowboard SuperPipe became a “spin-to-win” competition, ushered in partly by Michigan snowboard upstart Danny Davis. Davis, who was the first snowboarder to land three double corks in a competition in 2010, reversed his course and chose instead to focus on style, creativity and originality. That reversal created a new revolution in the world of competitive snowboarding: balance between tricks and style. While some still focused on the spin, Danny Davis threw caution to the wind with the switch method heard round the world. Now considered an elder statesman on the pipe, Danny Davis is focused on the future but not forgetting his past. It’s all a part of his latest balancing act as a snowboarding professional. Welcome to Being Danny Davis.
