David Coulthard treated Formula 1 fans to a real show ahead of the French Grand Prix as he put the double-championship winning RB7 V8 through its paces as the sun set in Marseille. Here is all you need to know:

– After Aston Martin Red Bull Racing had finished Friday practice at the Circuit Paul Ricard, the team travelled west to Marseille to treat more fans to an F1 show.

– Scottish pilot Coulthard, who drove for the team from 2005-2009, roared along the waterfront on the Quai du Port with a magnificent sequence of donuts to cap it off.

– The 47-year-old, who won the French GP in 2000, enthused: “It’s fantastic to have this race back on the calendar. The event this evening has been terrific: it’s a great way to promote F1 and support the French GP.”
