Swedish car dealership Norrbil has been named as title sponsor for the Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix as the event debuts in Hallstavik on July 7.

Based in Roslagen since 1970, Norrbil sells new and used cars, working with Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi. Norrbil has also been a partner to Rospiggarna Speedway club for several years.

The Norrbil Swedish SGP sees the world’s top riders battle it out at Hallstavik’s HZ Bygg Arena for the first time. And BSI Speedway managing director Torben Olsen is glad to see Norrbil become a key part of the event.

He said: “It’s great to welcome Norrbil on board. Hallstavik’s first SGP round is a huge event for the region and in Sweden as a whole, and I’m sure they will benefit from the brand exposure that comes with being title sponsors.

“With Fredrik Lindgren flying high at the top of the World Championship and local hero Andreas Jonsson racing on his home track, there is sure to be a lot of interest from the Swedish fans. We can’t wait to see SGP bikes racing in Hallstavik for the first time.”

Norrbil CEO Sven Lossell said: “We have a huge interest in the local area, mainly supporting events in the immediate area as well as some sports associations which we know empower young people.

“It’s fantastic to see an SGP round taking place in Hallstavik and we are looking forward to being part of a great night of racing.”
