Burton Qualifiers Tour Stop 5: Ontario, eh.

Courtesy of Burton Snowboards

For the fifth and final semis stop of the 2017-18 tour, the Burton Qualifiers headed north of the border to Ontario’s Horseshoe Resort. The region’s top up-and- coming riders (plus some international talent from south of the border) descended on the Outlaw Terrain Park in one of the tour’s biggest turnouts yet. $20,000 in cold hard cash twisted the throttle on progression and gave the judges whiplash as their eyes tried to keep up.

The Outlaw Terrain Park crew poutine overtime with the shovels and snowcats, building a setup that local riders were praising as their best work yet. Street style features in the form of down rails and kinked rails combined with more than enough transition to get tech. When the buzzer hit, it was the top three in both the Open and 15 & Under divisions bringing home a paycheck, while the top six in each division got an invite to the tour finals going down March 24 at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.
