This weekend is the 3rd stop of the Dew Action Sports tour and 2nd stop for BMX dirt. Joey Cordova, Matt Cordova and TJ Ellis were in full effect hucking the rad jumps designed by BMX legend TJ Lavin. Although the Sullen BMX didn’t make the finals, they were still flowing the course with style and were a huge presence as the cameras and reporters followed there every move. †The lineup is stacked this year so just be contending is a blessingâ€, †I can do only what I can do and the rest lays in the judges hands†says Joey referring to his Thursday runs as he was super bummed he didn’t make the cut to prelims. Joey was the only person throwing the biggest no hand flips and the ONLY one doing a cordova flip which that right there no one understood why he didn’t advance.
Matt Cordova, younger brother of Joey was absolutely killing it with style, as I was on twitter getting updates companies like Plus Size BMX and Ride BMX were tweeting that Matt had the most style out there and it showed as he finished .12th of a point from advancing putting him in 6th place.
TJ Ellis coming off a first place victory from Vans Kill the Line in France a few days ago seemed to be putting it down and had momentum from the win but maybe traveling so much lately might have gotten to him a bit, but from what I saw TJ should of made it into the finals.
The next and final stop (next month) in Vegas is always a fun one as the guys lay it all out on the line for there last attempt at the Dew Cup trophy. I would say all in all the guys rode awesome and we are so stoked that no one got hurt and is able to ride another day. Check out the pics above compliments of Fat Tony from Ride BMX as well as the video below.
